Lead Our Chapter and Advance the Profession
The COCHMM Board of Directors invites you to submit a nomination for yourself or another qualified Professional Member to serve a two-year term on the COCHMM Board of Directors or a three-year term as an At-Large Director, beginning January 2026.
Serving on the Board is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills, expand your professional network, and influence the future of COCHMM and the broader EHS&S community in Central Ohio.
Nominations are due by November 30, 2025.

Nomination Process
To nominate yourself or someone else, please provide:

Confirmation that the nominee has been contacted and is willing and able to serve
Nominees will be sent a Candidate Information Form and additional materials to complete and return to the Board.
The Board will review all submissions and prepare a slate of candidates to be voted on by COCHMM members in November 2025.

Nominees must:

Be a Professional Member in good standing with COCHMM.
Desired Competencies
The Leadership Committee is seeking candidates who bring one or more of the following competencies to the Board:

Leadership Development
Experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading professional development efforts for teams or organizations. -
Strategic Planning and Change Management
Ability to help shape and implement strategic goals, facilitate organizational change, and engage stakeholders effectively. -
Effective Networking
Strong ability to build and leverage relationships to expand membership, identify sponsors, and raise visibility for COCHMM and its mission. -
Industry Knowledge
A well-rounded understanding of hazardous materials management and the EHS&S field.
Board Selection Process
COCHMM follows a four-step, bylaws-driven process:

Call for Nominations Issued – Members are invited to nominate qualified candidates.

Candidate Forms Reviewed – The Board evaluates all submitted materials and selects a proposed slate of up to nine nominees.

Membership Notification & Floor Nominations – The proposed slate is shared with members, who are given 30 days to submit additional nominations from the floor.

Election & Announcement – If additional qualified nominees are received, an election will be held. The final 2026 Board will be announced afterward.
Participation in all COCHMM board meetings and functions is expected. Meetings are typically held quarterly via videoconference, with at least one in-person meeting held each year.
